why did they change the intro !!!!!
like okay, i’m not completely mad because the show still has that same ridiculous creativity and over-the-top energy that makes it so fun to watch, but i genuinely miss the old intro so bad. the original was so cunty, catchy, and instantly set the tone for the chaos you were about to witness. this new one feels toned down in comparison. not bad, just lacking that same addictive flair that made me want to replay it every episode instead of skipping.
i also feel like the author character was weirdly underdeveloped considering how often he pops up. every time he appeared i was like “wait omg right, this guy exists.” i kept expecting the show to give us at least something more substantial about him because his presence feels important, but he mostly just floats in and out without enough grounding. a little backstory or emotional context would’ve gone a long way, especially in a show where literally everyone else is giving 200% commitment to their bit.
and i’m sorry but the whole love triangle involving the minor high schooler was just taking me out, like why are we even pretending this is a difficult romantic choice… it’s actually insane. #jailtime
i also wish the kikuchi storyline didn’t lose momentum once he got to america because it really felt like the emotional core started thinning out there. there was so much potential to deepen the relationship and actually let the distance affect them in more interesting ways, but it kind of stalls instead.
that being said, atsuhiro inukai continues to carry scenes so effortlessly. his comedic timing is genuinely insane because he commits so hard without making it feel forced. honestly, that’s what i love most about this show in general — nobody is embarrassed to be extra. every actor fully throws themselves into the absurdity like their life depends on it, and that level of commitment makes even the messier parts weirdly charming.
