the world is already so full of the practical and the ordinary—that was never what i wanted from you
i don't remember how i came to know about this movie, but i am glad i did. it is delightful! bernadette peters was so, so charming in this. i haven't had the chance to see any of her broadway performances, and this is the first thing i've seen her in, but i am completely taken by her. she is wonderful to watch and impossible not to fall in love with. i enjoyed the lesbian domesticity in this movie, and i'm glad homophobia wasn't used as a plot point. overall, i found this to be a feel-good film about learning how to become a family. such a sweet film. i love seeing lesbians happy !!
