It didn’t really resonate with me, it’s a mystery movie with none of the mystery in it. You know who the kidnapper is for the majority of it and you know the kid gets home safe because they find him way before the halfway mark so it’s really just a mediocre detective movie. I don’t really understand where all the hype is coming from on this one, can someone please explain. There’s also quite a few scenes that are super dragged out for no reason, examples being when the lady is just repeatedly bashing herself into the wall and the random bar scene, like why were they so long. I will say the acting is spot on, you could definitely feel the emotion in the characters and it was complimented well with the score. It’s not really a bad movie by any means but it definitely isn’t this movie that gets a huge amount of praise as one of the greats unless totally missed something. Someone’s going to have to convince me to watch it again because if not I will not be circling on back for a rewatch.
