This was made for me!!! (Lesbians)
It’s dramatic🎭, campy🎞️, stylish💅 but in a very self-aware and clever way. You can totally feel Elfriede Jelinek’s sharp wordplay mixed with the queer flair of Ulrike Ottinger. The dialogue has these random little witty lines that made me laugh way more than I expected.
Some shots look like paintings, and the costumes?? Soo good😌. Every scene feels super stylized. I think that Ulrike Ottinger kinda has the same style as me = it’s perfect!
And Isabelle as the Blood Countess is iconicccc. She owns every scene. Dramatic, seductive and slightly absurd. I loved it. She was so attractive omg… even though I thought it had more lesbian-plot, it was very clear that The Blood Countess had a thing for younger women 👀🤭
Also I really enjoyed the bilingual chaos! French, German, Austrian dialect, a bit of Russian. It gives the whole thing this fun and theatrical energy.(Never thought that Birgit Minichmayr‘s role with the Austrian dialect would attract me so much🙈) also loved to hear Isabelle talk in my native language.
Overall a very fun watch! Would definitely rewatch it.
