Swedish with subtitles.
You know what. Yeah!
I started watching this with my Auntie, and it took me about 2 minutes to realise they were speaking Swedish not English… I’m not sure what that says about me.
A fascinating true story about the Holocaust, but about a section I did not know about, Sweden’s involvement and defiance.
However, while the actual storyline was great (it’s true it can’t not be) the way it was told was jarring. It was comedic? A Holocaust film? Some parts worked comedically others felt tone wise, wrong. But it was out there, and I mostly enjoyed that. Go big or go home? Just maybe not for a Holocaust film.
Also some bits I was like 🤓☝️questing some elements of the film when it comes to historical accuracy and what the world would’ve known about the inside of the camps etc.
So random but why not.
