Powerful film. I personally find it's depiction of mental illness and collapse to be very tastefully done. Arguably quite confusing in parts and generally requires extra research outside of just watching to really understand the film – however this doesn't reduce it's impact and power, if anything that shows how deep it really is.

The story of the film is good, and Malkovich’s acting in the final scene—especially the hand trembling—was excellent.. But other than that, the movie really didn’t flow and was extremely boring.. It contained far too many unnecessary scenes and unnecessary dialogues, and even some of the internal conflicts were dragged out for no reason.. Having so many unnecessary elements blurred the film’s depth and the message it was trying to convey.. The film makes it even clearer that some people really shouldn’t be parents. The mother and father are so awful that it’s almost disgusting.. The mother, in particular, completely enslaves herself, gets mistreated by her husband, and even gets angry at her sons when they try to defend her.. It’s sad to know that there are many parents like this

Onun dışında gerçekten hiç akmadı film ve aşırı sıkıcıydı, çok fazla gereksiz sahne gereksiz diyalog barındırıyordu, içsel çatışmaların bazıları bile gereksiz uzundu, bu kadar gereksiz şey olması filmin derinliğini ve iletmek istediği mesajı bulanıklaştırmış.. Bazı insanların gerçekten ebeveyn olmamaları gerektiğini daha da açık göstermiş film, resmen anne ve baba o kadar iğrençler ki, özellikle anne kendini tamamen köleleştiriyor, kocası eziyor onu savunan oğullarına kızıyor, bu tarz bir sürü ebeveyn olduğunu bilmek üzücü
