When a Supreme Court judge commits suicide and his secretary is found murdered, all fingers point to Carl Anderson, a homeless veteran who's deaf and mute. But when public defender Kathleen Riley is assigned to his case, she begins to believe that Anderson may actually be innocent. Juror Eddie Sanger, a Washington lobbyist, agrees, and together the pair begins their own investigation of events.

Cher is wonderful, I really liked the twist at the end, and that library scene with her and Dennis Quaid was so so good.

That being said, I was a little underwhelmed. It wasn't until the very last courtroom scene that I was even interested in the truth behind the case. I love a courtroom drama and while I do think this has its merits, it falls a little flat when compared to others from its era.

They should've delved deeper into Liam Kneesons character and less on how to fuck with the justice system trying to play detectives

I was saying “it’s obviously Eddie” the whole time kind of embarrassing

Also we don’t find out what happens to Carl??

i love a court room drama and i love anything starring cher so i had a pretty good time. you’ve probably already seen this exact movie before, but cher does not get enough credit for how good of an actress she is and this is very much worth seeing if for her performance alone.

Do you believe in love after jury duty?
I can feel something inside me say
I really don't think you're strong enough, no
