Wow this was a complex one! Not sure I can really digest all my thoughts into a single post here.
What I can say is that the song choice about obsession vs love is a perfect encapsulation of this movie. Humans do crazy shit and will act in crazy ways for both. Some rational and well thought out, some irrational and raw with emotion. I think the film does a really great job of exploring the concept while not spoon feeding anything to the audience.
I probably would never have seen this if there wasn’t a Q&A afterwards so shoutout to Mubi, AMC Lincoln Square, and NYC for getting myself and many others to the theater to watch a great movie that really makes you think!
