It is amazing, genuinely amazing that in this should-be-nothing filmed version of an old play, you can STILL tell it's Welles. There's STILL fun things being tried out, as early on in both his cinematic and theatrical career, the form is STILL being ripped apart and re-analysed from the get-go. I truly believe it is no exaggeration to say that the man IS cinema.
