A hilarious parody of Jane Austen adaptations, and taking the “period” in period drama very seriously. The handsome, wealthy smoke show Mr. Dickley is about to propose to the stunning Essy Talbot, but he notices a blood stain on her dress and carries her to her house, a’la Sense & Sensibility, to seek medical attention. But it turns out the bleeding isn’t from a wound, but from her period. It’s silly, but also weirdly beautiful.
