Most quiet cinema I have ever been in for a comedy. For a film that used anti wokeness and “if you think they won’t say it, they will” as its entire marketing campaign, it’s barely even offensive. The film genuinely thinks that recognising a reference is the same thing as hearing a joke. Remember the first movie? Covid? Gen Z brainrot meme??? Remember those? Literally every modern horror movie? Do you remember that one? Just pointing at shit and holding to let you do the Leo OUATIH meme. Horror satire Endgame style. Not only does it make these references with 0 punchline but half of them are just recreating the most famous clips from each film in the most unfunny way possible with the most eye roll meta jokes thrown in. Bonus points for “yall klan?”, my friend maxi will love that one. It’s all so unfunny man. I have revisit the originals if this bullshit is the humour I grew up on.
