this is my 6th sion sono film and i'm pretty sure that this is his weirdest film out of them all and i rlly fucking liked it. i'm contemplating between a 4 and a 4.5 but i'll keep it at a 4 for now. sion sono truly is a master at work, this movie is so poetic and so fun aswell. i love how funny and outrageously absurd this is and the fact it fits into the themes of human desire and the themes of human nature along with the experience of the show business in japan is such a random mix up and for me, it works so well. the quality wasn't too great as it was a youtube video but it wasnt unwatchable and for me added to the experimental and surreal vibe this movie gives off. this is a very weird romance but i like how its a mix of a documentary with no actual script or anything along with a structured romance and how they balance it, which makes it confusing at times as u cant tell whats rlly happening until about an hour into it but i enjoyed it a lot. the version i found on youtube unfortunately cuts out a scene, but i found it on internet archives so it's fine. i rlly like the cinematography and the editing, i don't think this movie is like stunning or anything im just a massive fan of these type of experimental movies with hand held digital cameras and this is one of my favourite ones. i still cant get over that this is a documentary of itself and how it actually works, sion sono is honestly so good and he's been one of my favourite directors for a while. the ending of this movie is rlly confusing and i honestly don't get it, im sure on a rewatch i'll understand it or atleast try to fully understand it, but for now im just sticking with my feelings and i liked it. this movie isn't for everyone tho
