Long Gone Heroes
I went into this with zero expectations, mainly watching it because of Josh Hutcherson and Frank Grillo, and honestly… it wasn’t bad at all.

It has clear vibes of films like Sicario and Triple Frontier. It doesn’t reach that level, but you can feel the influence, and it works well enough within its own scale.

Performance wise, Frank Grillo does what he does best. That tough, no-nonsense type of character with solid action scenes, and he delivers. Josh Hutcherson was actually a really nice surprise. Seeing him in a role like this felt different, and I think he pulls it off well.

The story is pretty straightforward. It’s your classic rescue mission set in Latin America, with cartels, mafia elements, and a lot of gunfights. It doesn’t try to reinvent anything, but it knows exactly what kind of movie it wants to be and sticks to it.

And honestly, that’s kind of its strength. It’s just a solid action film where you can sit back, enjoy the story, and have a good time with all the action.

It’s not trying to be more than it is, and because of that, it works. A simple, entertaining watch with enough intensity to keep you engaged.

Long Gone Heroes
yeah.. action/war films are as exciting as watching paint dry on a wall.

this was just so boring, i struggled to stay awake.. it’s just so generic.. a group of guys go looking for someone and then there’s a couple shooting sequences and then the good guys win, i feel like this plot is just reused in almost every film like this. the pacing is so slow! the movie just drags, considering how lackluster the plot is they could’ve just shortened it by like half an hour, i probably would’ve enjoyed it more. i also feel like the script isn’t great, they just don’t explain everything correctly and it ends up being a jumbled up mess, the characters are mediocre at best.. maybe i’m being harsh as this really isn’t my cup of tea, low budget action films just sort of exist? i guess there’s a decent atmosphere and there’s josh hutcherson, and this film does what it needs to at attracting a certain audience, that audience isn’t me but i get that this objectively isn’t a terrible film..
