Nobody understands Makoto Shinkai movies like I do. NOBODY!! This review is just gonna be another glaze session, sorry. The animation? PERFECT (as always). No one can set an atmosphere like Shinkai. I love when they just zoom out and show the beauty and the colors of the setting. All the details with the rain and snow are so cozy and really make me feel everything. I feel so deeply connected to every character this man has made. The way emotions are portrayed through them just makes me so emotional and so happy every single time. The pure and innocent friendship between Hiroki, Takuya and Sayuri healed something in me. And there’s something about that damn train… has every Shinkai movie had a significant moment on a train at one point? I think so. Anyways, I will be eternally grateful for the art makoto shinkai has created, forever my goat, the best director ever.
