well i can say this is not so great movie but the plot doesn’t rush or push for big dramatic payoffs, it leans into awkward situations and cultural clashes. it has that late-80s charm and unpreditable. and what makes this movie interesting is its dry humor and low-stakes absurdity
also this movie plays with identity, ambition, and miscommunication in a casual way, making it feel more like a character sketch than a tightly structured narrative. and for my baby Daniel Day-Lewis, he’s surprisingly playful in this role, showing a lighter and less intense side of himself. his performance feels relaxed and slightly awkward, which works perfectly for the tone of this movie. ARGHHHH HE LOOKS SO HANDSOME HERE TOO OMG 😆😆🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Starts with a great reveal of Keith David pulling off a fencing helmet and never quite reaches that high again. Look, I watched it to see Daniel Day Lewis and Harry Dean Stanton act together, and it delivered on that front.
