A shoddily scripted but phenomenally written pill-popping animated 90s punk rock opera mixing Mean Girls with The Outsiders that utilizes people who can’t voice act but replaces them for songs so at least there’s that. Meanders a bit for the first 35 minutes but locks the fuck in at the halfway point and I’m not ashamed to say that I cried at the mixture of Deadly Shade of Blue / I Got a Friend in You / Bury and Hide. Wish I could show this to my 13 year old self at the MCR concert but I feel like even me in the past wouldn’t be able to get past the voice work.
