Amazing. This is so real. Genuinely it annoys me how people ruin the coffee by putting lots of everything in it and not tasting the actual coffee. Then they proceed to say how much they like coffee, like no you don't, you like milk,  sugar, syrup and whatever else you all put in there. Similiar with decaff as well. Just drink normal coffee, those 100mg of caffeine won't do anything to you. I guess it could be valid in some situations though, but again you're just ruining the coffee, you'll never get as good decaff as a normal coffee. This is a valid crash out 100%. I so relate to this. People cannot appreciate actual coffee. It makes you not want to make that coffee. It's disrespectful even. Like they're putting all of your effort into waste. Like I genuinely don't understand why do people pretend that they like coffee and then proceed to get some kind of milkshake with a shot of espresso which while they wouldn't even tell the difference if it wasn't there. At this point just go get an actual milkshake or something. If you're telling people that you like coffee while drinking whatever that is you're simply lying. I'm not saying that everyone should just drink black coffee. I also sometimes like a cortado, even though mostly I just drink filter, like v60, but it gets to a point. Like putting all those sweteners and everything, just altering the taste, you don't taste the actual coffee, you don't taste what these particular beans have to offer, you don't taste of how well it was actually made, all you taste is just the sweeteners. ESPECIALLY if you're drinking a good specialty coffee that was well made how can you just ruin it like that. I suppose it's valid to "ruin" it if it's some cheap really darkly roasted coffee which wasn't that well made, but if you go to a coffee and get specialty coffee, you're just wasting those beans, not tasting them it's really annoying. So yeah very valid crash out, I relate so much. Especially if I'm making filter coffee for someone. Like I get espresso is a bit different it's very often used as a base for drinks and like I said I do like drinking something like a cortado or an americano sometimes as well, but doing anything to filter coffee has to be a crime. It's not meant to be drunk with anything. It's not that easy to make a good filter coffee, so when people make it, it's also usually made with good, lightly roasted specialty coffee and also there's a lot of effort put into it. Dialing it in, finding a right recipe for those exact beans, brewing it right. But that's the thing, that's the beauty of filter coffee, you can get so much from coffee and make it so interesting that it doesn't even taste like coffee, it taste like fruits and berries and stuff. And that's why you have ti savour it, actually taste it for what it is and not just put some milk and sugar in it and lose all of it's taste and then say something like "oh yeah it's good" after being asked what you think about it. From my own experience as well, when I spend a lot of time to brew a good cup of coffee for someone and they don't even give it a chance. Or drink it while eating something. Like you're not going to taste the coffee, all you're gonna taste is the food you're eating and it's gonna mess with your taste buds and you won't know what this coffee is capable of tasting. It just feels like I waste all of my effort for nothing. And thing is, most people are like this. Almost all the people I've met and made coffee for have always been like this, they never try to taste it, never enjoy it, they're always just like "yeah it's good", like that doesn't tell me anything. So actually when I remember we were brewing different coffees with a friend who's also really interested in coffee and he actually appreciated it, actually tried to taste it, to desribe it it felt so great. So yeah I don't know how could I actually work as a barista, because I feel like people would just piss me off with their absurd orders. It'd probably end up like in this film. Also another thing I noticed here, at the start when she was trying to dial in the "perfect cup" the narrator was describing it as if it's her ultimate passion and a goal, but all she was doing was just changing the grind size while it was quite obvious that extraction is just uneven from uneven tamping. I mean in the first place she didn't even use a distributor tool for the puck prep. Sadly we didn't see her actually tamping, but from the shot result it was obviously the problem while grind being secondary. Also she didn't even use a scale, how can you expect to get a good coffee if you're not even measuring it properly. But yeah sure, I get it why this film could seem pretty dumb, but I really liked it and really relate to it. Also I think it's quite ironic that the film is 5 minutes long, but I've spent way more than that for the review of it. Anyway it was great, I really liked it

oh to be a true specialty coffee barista </3

I have always been so intrigued by the SCA and barista competitions, I think it's so cool how these baristas hone their craft. this documentary tho...any meme you have ever seen about a hipster barista is here in this documentary. like, it almost made me laugh. it was cool seeing their routines, but this was just way too long. I would understand a near 2 hour run time if more info on the technical aspects of brewing coffee was covered, but geez the length was unnecessary. I feel like if someone who has never worked in coffee watched this, it'd be underwhelming

also so many weird/random parts that should've been cut out, why did you include a clip of the one dude showing off the ultrasound of his child and pointing out the penis?? weird vibes man
