8.5/10 still such a fun watch. I can get why people don’t like this but I just genuinely love this so much. Rom-com and Horror are 2 genres you don’t think can mix. Which the director Josh Reuben mixes perfectly and so fun here. I watched this in theaters last year and it was so damn fun. I honestly think weirdly it’s my comfort movie. Mason Gooding is just an absolute G. He seems like such a cool dude from what I’ve seen and I love his work. Him and Olivia Holt are just such a great funny duo in this. Hopefully Heart Eyes can become a horror icon. It’s such a cool concept of a character and in my opinion it was very well done. One of my only criticisms was the killers being revealed. I just felt they had no significance to the story before hand. I mean Shaw did have significance to the story but I only remembered her name because of the Hobbs and Shaw joke which I found funny. And the other dude whose name I’m forgetting while writing this was only in one scene before hand. This movie probably needed another 20 more minutes of run time to give us an even better movie. I’m just so happy their is a sequel in works and if Jay and Ally ain’t returning I will be returning but also disappointed. So many awesome kills here especially at the start and in the third act they were so brutal to watch. This movie honestly was just Scream on Valentines day from the great opening scene to the reveal at the end. The acting also could’ve been better from pretty much all the cast other than Mason Gooding. I forgot to say how much I loved Monica because damn she was really funny. If you love slashers and have a significant other please watch this it’s just such a fun watch.
