This film had an interesting concept but was extremely boring for 90% of its runtime. The jumpscares at the end where effective even if I don't like jumpscares. Overall a film that should have been like 45 minutes to an hour at most.

2 out of 5 stars

Damn, I really seem to be the only one that loved this. I do think there are valid criticisms, like how they spend so long on the mockumentary and shove all the horror into the final 10 minutes, but god damn, if those final 10 minutes aren’t fantastic. I also wish they expanded on the folklore at the core of this mystery, but I still enjoyed what we got. I also just love the vibe of the Vancouver Island which helped me enjoy the majority of this movie.

honestly pretty surprised about this one. clear inspiration from the blair witch project, and maybe that’s why i liked it as much as i did. i was quite intrigued by the documentary style of filmmaking, with everything “seemingly” grounded in reality it made the last act much more impactful. i was definitely scared during certain moments which is more than i expected walking into the theatre.
