On the outskirts of Medellín, Colombia in the late 1980s, local residents report strange lights descending from the sky. When a reporter arrives to investigate, a ragtag group of teens from a lawless neighbourhood storm the scene and steal his camera. In the hands of its new owners, the device records a mesmerising plunge into their frantic existence.

In the beginning the movie had me hooked. I like the concept and the fact that I was wondering if it was real or not. The film totally lost me when that light child came in and later with the weird monster. I know it's probably a metaphore, but because of how confusing the movie was I couldn't figure out what they stood for.
I also think that the music was not needed in some of the scenes (or any except the light child and monster), because the scenes spoke for themselves. For example the robbery: for me personally it would've made a way bigger impact without the dramatic music.
I genuinly liked it at the beginning and the concept really spoke to me, but the execution could've been way better in my opinion.

As soon as I thought I knew what this movie was, it completely pulled out the rug from under me and the surprises just kept on coming.
Very loud and in your face, the score is nuts, but also has a real feeling of loneliness and melancholy throughout. Utilizes the found footage format so well too, and I loved the look of the handheld video footage.
Movies I was reminded of during the runtime included:inland empire, baby invasion, gummo, and blair witch
Safe to say I was a big fan and look forward to revisiting this!
