the real hero is consent.
i was having fits of laughter even before the film started. i didn't know anything about the film outside of the titular "teeth" and just the first ten minutes were enough to convince me that i was watching a comedy masterpiece. almost every scene made me lose my shit. this would be a great film to make a commentary track for.
i just love it when i'm watching a film that doesn't even feel real. but unlike other masterpieces such as The Room, and Spider-Man 3, this film deserves a lot of credit for actually being very self-aware. the humor here is not unintentional. and because of that it stands firmly outside of the "so bad it's good" territory. but don't get me wrong, i'm not sure how earnestly i should review this film because even though it does feel smart, it also feels really stupid at the same time. i'm so conflicted, especially because the subject matter here is actually very serious. there were plenty of scenes that i did not find funny at all (not in a bad way).
but overall, this was one of the most entertaining films i've ever watched.
