5.4/10 good type of bad. I enjoyed the badness of this movie so much it sort of brought the rating up for me. The third act rocks and was so much fun hut before that I mean the movie was trash. I do think it was cool to see a chimpanzee being a main antagonist in the movie. Horror has been loving monkeys being in their movies recently. The kills here were also amazing. The practical effects were amazing and definitely bumped this up. I don’t think this was good at all but it was a fun watch and I can see myself watching this with the boys on a random weekend night.

This movie was decent. A face was ripped off within the first 5 minutes, that made me sit up a little bit. The rest of the story was just okay though. There were quite a few homage scenes or tropes from other successful horror/slasher films that I did enjoy. I only really cared about a few people including the chimp. Poor guy. It gets stagnant in the middle, literally wading water for the second act. It did pick up in the third act, a bit over the top, but the tension and gore was well worth the 90 minutes out of my afternoon.
