By far the weakest movie but it’s held together with a strong cast especially Charles White AKA Moist Critical, what a performance. All jokes aside, when I first watched this, I was majorly disappointed. After two or three more rewatches, I have grown to like it a lot more though. It’s definitely the slowest of the bunch, there’s a whole lot of buildup that gets no payoff because all the payoff comes in the final film of the series but what they did do with this film wasn’t bad. I liked the story building with her reluctantly becoming the mockingjay but only agreed for her own benefit that then morphed into her actually caring. The hanging tree and the lumberjack scenes were fire, I loved how the people came into the revolution like that. It’s an all around solid movie just a lot of fluff involved in it. The bombing of 13 was longer than needed, it started to drag a lot there. I don’t know, I’m both happy and sad with this film because it’s good but could’ve been so much better. I’ll watch again when I do my hunger games watch through of course.
