This film made me wait patiently for the woman’s face to be revealed, as if it would make me understand the wrongdoings of those people toward her. But then i asked myself: Does it really matter how she looks? Do looks really define how people should be treated? The short answer is no. I think the film wants its audience to grasp the hideous reality embedded in our society. People blindly adhere to beauty standards to the point they forget that people outside those standards are also beautiful. The revealing of the picture at the end proves this point, showing how a normal human being can suffer from exclusion and bullying merely because they are not the type of person that society find conventionally attractive.

‘’ You resemble your father, today you resemble him even more’’

These last lines spoken by the producer really clicked for me because, after the son discovered the truth, he chose to conceal it, which makes him become like his father ‘’ another victim of society’s monstrous trick. The idea that the woman was ugly and a source of ignominy was instilled in the blind man’s mind because society said so. The son also ended up caring about his image than his mother’s justice because, once again society said so.
