On the surface this may seem like a decent superhero movie but where this movie fails is on a deeper level. Ultimately choosing to focus on hyper stylized action scenes rather than the deeper relationships and themes that made the original comic one of the greatest stories of all time.

The directors cut was playing on tv? So why not watch again. Genuinely don’t understand why people give this especially the directors cut an under four stars???

I saw the ultimate cut of this which included an animated story spliced throughout the film. Personally I didn’t see the point in it except the fact that the character’s story kind of mirrored Rorschach’s. Other than that it was just extended scenes and storylines which weren’t really needed. The 3hr35 runtime is a bit excessive so I think the theatrical cut is definitely the go to. I’ve heard the Extended / Directors cut is meant to be just as good so I’ll need to check that out too. This is definitely top three comic book movies for me.
