Didn’t really like the pacing. Felt like the whole invasion was a lot faster than it seemed to be in the game. In the game it seemed as if this was going on for days with the whole “medical is a sanctuary”. Also don’t like the inaccurate character designs and voices. I know they probably couldn’t get the original cast but still, could’ve had some more effort for accurate designs and performances.

I clearly loved it. I love anything involving Dead Space in general so I’m biased and that’s the selling point for the whole movie. If you have no interest in the dead space franchise then you will get absolutely nothing from this. A lot of the ideas and themes from this are directly linked to the game, but you need the context. Even with how much I liked it there’s a lot of issues. They put 2D characters on 3D backgrounds and sometimes it looks awesome but most of the time it just looks cheap. The characters themselves don’t get much development because of how fast the pacing is. Alyssa is only rly interesting bc she gets shit done, but other than that she’s just a typical good guy. Which is unfortunate because Dead Space has a ton of amazing characters that get the development they deserve. It rly feels like this was rushed and underfunded, and again that sucks bc there’s something great here. I personally loved it.
