Well, I wasn’t expecting that when I went in to watch this movie. I really wasn’t expecting a full movie of elderly Clint Eastwood straight up aura farming either but hey, you get what you get. It also was surprisingly funny at times and it has such a great story with a very emotional ending. I aspire to be like Clint Eastwood in this movie just with a tad less racism when I’m older. I will admit, then ending do have me tearing up a bit yet I was disappointed with the ending. I wanted to see him go geezer John wick on those bitches or like get a gang full of his old war buddies to tear that shit up but the ending we got was also acceptable. Clint Eastwoods character is very lovable and portrayed pretty accurately for a war veteran, he definitely reminded me of my grandfather who was in WW2 and also worked in a ford factory for decades just like Walt. The both were whitty, mildly racist asshole alcoholics yet somehow likable guys. I felt like the protagonists son was an unnecessary part of the movie, it wasn’t needed much besides establishing the fact that they don’t communicate with each other. Also Clint Eastwood singing at the end of the film was both sad and goofy, he definitely isn’t known for his singing and should stay that way. I do feel like it did drag away from the emotional ending we got. It’s still a great film, I’d watch again.
