blows my mind that this film doesn’t have a larger footprint in the cultural zeitgeist of indian cinephiles. the comedic sequences were genuinely funny and have aged pretty well for a film made over 23 years ago. had this film been released today, i’m pretty sure the three main leads would be swooned and swarmed for the ages! especially for that kitty party scenes.
i’d describe bombay boys as dil chata hai’s 90s hinglish sister film except it’s probably takes itself alot less seriously.
highlights of the film? -rohan seth’s parsi landlord is a well written character - naveen andrews broken hindi-the desi kitty party scene; pre-dating magic mike-just rahul bose-the casual americanized hinglish -baby vinay pathak in a minor role
