Okay, I know it's not funny; I know that it's really sad and fucked up. I understand that this is a documentary and that all of this actually happened and people's lives were irreparably damaged because of the events covered in this. As someone entirely removed from these events and as a fan of messy drama, this was hilarious. You can't fucking lie and tell me you love the episodes of Catfished where everything works out and love blossoms; you want the guy that Becky has been "in a relationship with" for the last three years to be her brother's girlfriend or for Johnathan's internet girlfriend to actually be some old dudes from Des Moines, just like I do. While I do wish we learned something definitive and spent more time on the catfishing and less on the history of Tegan and Sara (nothing against them, I have some of there stuff on my Playlist, but I am here for the drama), I still had a blast. It can get a bit repetitive though and the storytelling can get just as messy as the story they are telling. It doesn't feel like it was made by a documentarian; it comes off more like a weekend project. I got what I wanted out of it, but it doesn't deliver as much as I really wanted.
