A lot to unpack in only 96 minutes, and I mean that in the best way possible. Set during WWII, eight survivors are left stranded on a boat, and need to sail to shore. The group of survivors are diverse, and seven Americans become concerned with the loyalty of the single German survivor.
This is such a fun watch, touching on themes of death, love, racism and feminism. With this obviously being a single setting, Hitchcock does a lot with very little. While it may be to the level of Vertigo or Psycho, this is a solid film and a must watch when diving into Hitchcock’s work.
