Watched with a friend, who seemed to like it a lot.

With my comparatively greater understanding of the subject matter and experience watching the second film under my belt, this film's stock has raised dramatically for me. Emphatically weird, hectic, difficult to decode (a positive for me), bizarre expressions of somewhat difficult themes, but also incredibly funny and, at times, really heartfelt.

I described one scene to my friend as being what it looks like when you somehow roll 15 botches in a row playing Exalted. Just amazing. I'm already rubbing my hands together evilly looking for the chance to bust out the second film, which is actually one of my favorite films of all time. Collectively, parts one and two are destined to be annual rewatches for me.

I revisited this movie after years because I'm going to yinchuan with my girlfriend in 2 weeks. She recommended I watch it and now i have to get her something nice because I loved it much more than the first time.
A Chinese odyssey part 2 is an adaptation of journey to the west which I'm not very familiar with. That being said what the movie does it does very well and it's a bloody fun time too.
The movie is very funny and full of slapstick humor that got me every time. Stephen shows characters I'm sure couldn't have kids after what happened to him multiple times.
The characters are all just something too. They are all likeable especially joker and the demon sisters. There all alot of fun and keep you entertained all the way through.
I probably can't add much that hasn't been said but I had a great time and thanks to my girlfriend.

Suffers from a weaker, slower first half but gets really fun and entertaining once it gets started up. Stephen Chow is always great and the fantasy elements really shine. Excited to watch the other two.
