i guess this type of action movie isn't for me

THEY QUOTED DONALD TRUMP IN THIS SHIT?! The main villain literally called him a “GREAT AMERICAN”?!?! Cut the fucking cameras. 

I was already growing weary of this one pretty early on due to the headache-inducing editing choices (how many flash-cuts does one movie need??), but that Trump reference halfway in sealed the deal for me. This movie has aged abysmally. 

The fights throughout are pretty good at least … the only reason I’m not totally tanking my rating here is because the fight sequence where Jason Statham takes out a half-dozen thugs while removing most of his clothing has lived rent-free in my mind since I first saw it in 2008.

this not being the worst movie in a trilogy has to make you question how these movies were made 3 times over. the only real way to enjoy these movies is to just believe that anything you have ever learnt is wrong and that our main character is essentially god.

how many times can these cronies go in and try to beat up frank without like fully fledged weapons like this guy does the same shit every time and you still can’t beat him. also constantly making it seem like he’s dead isn’t gonna make fool anyone by the end so just stop using that trope please. 

now the acting performances funnily enough aren’t too bad our two leads have a fun energy that kinda juxtaposes one another but is still really cool and then the villain seems like a threading guy which always helps. 

is there fun to be had with this sure but it’s the same kinda fun as shooting yourself in the foot while drunk you know as it’s happening you can say oh that’s a fun idea and thing but really it’s just not that great
