This was a lovely Christmas film that was never boring. I loved the plot and the many twists it brought: it was so fun to follow along. The characters were great, but I felt that Hana was very two-dimensional, and considering this film was released in 2003 I wasn't expecting some of her aspects and the way other characters (especially Gin) treated her. I also would've liked to know more about her life leading up to that day, as well as Miyuki's relationship with her parents and why she ended up stabbing her dad. The animation was gorgeous though, and there was so much detail, even down to small facial expressions like Miyuki sniffling. Combined with the warm colour palette and subtle background score, the film had a cosy atmosphere. All in all, Tokyo Godfathers is a really nice pick if you're looking for an underrated Christmas film.
