The Newcomers

Pretty much terrible writing, performances and cinematography across the board. Terrible cliches and some downright confusing moments that make you wonder how they got into the final cut (like Josh Pecks character? what the fuck is he doing?). Completely baffling that this was a theatrically released film. Watched for Paul Dano.

The reason this is a 2/10 is because the scene between Gill and his dad on the couch is pretty decent, albeit, completely unnecessary.

paul dano is a literal child in this also in the same friend group with josh peck? the acting in this was so bad omfg especially from the main kid and the parents. i didn’t like it but it was also kind of endearing? josh peck kept squealing out of nowhere which was unsettling, but i sat through the whole thing surprisingly. also chris evans?
