Shaw Brothers produced Martial Arts Movie mixed with masked scooby-doo mystery and an (unhealthy) dose of torture corn thrown in for good measure.
The dying master of the Poison Clan (Dick Wei) sends his final student Yang (Chiang Sheng) to track down his other students with one mission: make sure they are behaving and if not take ‘em out!
Easier said than done though considering the five students are each well versed in deadly venom techniques, taking their individualise moniker from their stylistic namesakes.
The Lizard (Phillip Kwok), The Toad (Lo Mang), The Snake (Hong Wentong) The Human Centipede - God, no! (Lu Feng) and I can’t reveal the identify of the Scorpion as that would spoil the fun.
The mystery element does add an interesting diversion from the usual kung fu hijinx, which are fun and fast paced, especially in the finale. Be forewarned for some icky, though not entirely realistic, enhanced interrogation moments including the use of an Iron Maiden.
Not the Eddie kind.
