“Battle of the Bulge” is an overlong WWII epic with a great cast and a huge scale. It’s a grand film and shines with tons of tank action and several very well-shot battle sequences and so many tanks literally everywhere.

It definitely isn’t as engaging or fun as many similar films, but it’s still a good time. It’s got a very interesting premise, but I think this lacks either a definitive main character that isn’t nazi Robert Shaw or more of an ensemble feeling cause they way it is, it walks the line between both and really isn’t either.

It’s a very good film tho, although it could’ve been shorter and over all tighter.

I said in another review that “a lil historical inaccuracy never hurt nobody”. I was wrong. Even with some well-choreographed tank battle scenes, I can, at least, sympathise with Eisenhower for not enjoying this one.

Whilst this is enjoyable and sometimes striking, I’d recommend something like Band of Brothers for some more accurate representation of this battle and it’s sieges. 

Plus Robert Shaw’s Col Hessler is compensating for something with all those Tiger Tanks. Battle of the bulge... or lack there of.
