In episode 5 of the new Spider-Noir show on Prime, Nicholas Cage refers to Leyden, Flint and Lonnie, Silvermane's newly acquired goons with superpowers as 'freaks' and in that same vein he references this movie Freaks by Tod Browning and even mentions that it's still playing in theatres and they should go watch it.
That's the only reason I watched it.
It's a very strange and unique film. But also definitely incomplete. Nonetheless it's so ahead of its time and tells a tragic yet beautiful story.
The worst part was Cleo's laugh for sure. Strong 3 stars
