All the children want for Christmas is for Mommy and Daddy to get back together. They stage a situation where reunion revives an old and dysfunctional nostalgia. This is not Oedipus as desire, that is the literalism of father with thanatos and mother with eros, rather this is desiring Oedipus as the structure of liberation. They desire Mommy and Daddy to get back together so the open plains of possibility close back up to make the world palatable again. There is nothing more characteristic of Christmas than nostalgia. 

Is it really that horrible if Mommy and Daddy don't get back together? They each could remarry and the children would find twice the commodities Christmas morning! December 19th

After yesterday's more alternative christmas pick I decided to go for something that looked like a nice and cozy way more traditional watch. And this movie certainly lived up to those expectations.

It's not the most impressive movie you'll ever see and the story isn't anything new. But that's fine for a Christmas fun family movie. I don't need new and exciting I need comfort and this movie provides. The kid actors are great which definitely helps this movie as lots rely on them. Rest of the cast is good too and Leslie Nielsen Santa is obviously a big plus.

Nothing exceptional, but for what it is, it was really solid and it satisfied my needs to a chill little cozy Christmas watch :)
