The edit could’ve been a bit tighter, especially the interviews with people that seem to only have been inspired by Art. Considering that there are new interviews that were conducted with Art Spiegelman, they feel especially redundant. Some scenes even make it so they repeat points that Art makes.
Another small issue is the lack of Françoise. The docu makes light of the huge role she has in Art’s life, but she is barely seen (talking or otherwise) nor mentioned.
Anyways, despite the criticisms mentioned, this is a worthwhile watch – both for fans of Art’s works, anyone who appreciates art in any form, or just someone looking for an interesting watch.
