A chronicle of the life of infamous classical composer Ludwig van Beethoven and his painful struggle with hearing loss. Following Beethoven's death in 1827, his assistant, Schindler, searches for an elusive woman referred to in the composer's love letters as "immortal beloved." The most talented musician of the 19th century, 💯 percent. He takes literally 3-4 notes and builds an entire work on them. Just look at symphony no. 5: dadada duum, dadada duum, and so it repeats over and over again, wonderful! I truly believe that in his case, the art can be separated from his fiery and sometimes difficult temperament.
And Gary Oldman is magnificent here, genuinely one of the best living actors. Personally, i could also imagine Michael Shannon playing the maestro with equal intensity.
The film really asks: what if historical accuracy were about a 6/10, but the drama turned up to 11? And somehow, it worked.

The end of it when the symphony No.9 was playing and the claps everywhere made me cry my eyes out, and Gary oldman did such a great job, it was perfect ngl.
