The Plague was a little bit of a difficult watch for me; it's very realistically done, from the performances of the cast to the way the plot played out. It broaches the subject of bullying among young boys through the systematic bullying of one of the kids by the others at the camp in the film, and it shows how boys who have more empathy are looked down on if they don't conform. It's really sad to know that this is happening everyday, that kids think it's better to deflect bullying by joining in and not staying true to their selves. I thought that the boys in the cast were fantastic, because their acting felt very natural, but Kayo Martin, who played Jake, was especially brilliant; there were certain scenes where the look in his eyes was truly terrifying. The cinematography overall was beautifully done, too, and the sound design was incredible; some of the music in the soundtrack was so chilling, it really put me on edge. On the whole, I think The Plague is definitely worth a go, although I'd recommend not eating while watching because it turned my stomach.
