If you’ve watched any documentaries on climate change, fast fashion, waste, etc. this doesn’t offer a whole lot that feels new or ground breaking. While I did appreciate hearing from ‘insiders’ from the corporations leading to our planetary demise, and learning some new horrors behind the psychology of what these companies know and do that drive us to consume — this one left a lot to be desired. While I appreciated them trying to do something new and different with the AI companion narrating throughout this film, it ultimately just kind of bothered me. Also, the surprise at the end? C’mon. I was really hoping for something more actionable. TLDR: if you want to feel doom at an accelerating rate with no real hope because our world is run by capitalistic profit monsters, look no further than this film. But you could have probably already guessed that.
