- I love diners, i love old cars, i love Christmas/winter movies, i love vintage coats and outerwear, i love 80s/90s movies set in the 50s/60s, I love ensembles, and coming of age movies, and movies that reference other movies. So yeah basically this movie has everything I want. 5/5 EASILY🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
- Boogie’s Chevrolet is so insanely gorgeous I want it so bad (I can’t drive and I’m terrified to)
- (Almost) all of the guys in this movie are bad people but I don’t care bc they’re my friends and Most great movie characters are bad people anyway so idgaf
- there are so many great moments where the dialogue is so natural and real ugh I love it so much
- The soundtrack is phenomenal!!! But I mean cmon you cant go wrong with a Dion and the Belmonts needle drop
- I understand Shrevie lowkey bc his obsession with categorization is based. That’s just me on letterboxd and Spotify so I can’t judge
TW: the rest of the review is basically just about Ellen Barkin I’m not gonna lie to u. Enjoy❤️
- Before 90s Juliette Lewis we had 80s Ellen Barkin and thank god for both of them
- Mickey Rourke and Ellen Barkin… love u both so dearly. two unconventionally beautiful, underappreciated eighties legends that nobody talks about anymore. If they have one fan it’s me. If they have zero fans, tell my family I loved them because i’m dead just like Ellen Barkin’s career and Mickey Rourke’s original face
- No hate to Ellen and Mickey im sorry that was a mean joke. Ellen im sorry ur so Lana del Rey baddie, and Mickey I’m sorry I still love you even tho u look like The Beast
- ok yeah most of this review is about Ellen Barkin but her career is so crazy to me like she acted opposite De Niro, Pacino, and Mickey Rourke, AND she was in The Big Easy aka a Jim McBride film (director of my beloved 1983 Breathless american remake)…AND she’s in Drop Dead Gorgeous with Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Murphy, Allison Janney… NEED I SAY MORE?! So many of my baes… Ellen please write a memoir baby pleaseeeee
Is this my longest review ever? Possibly. That’s fine bc Diner deserves it even if nobody reads this all the way through 💋💋💋
