First time watching truly experimental cinema. Just absolutely beautiful to look at. Definitely need to further explore his filmography.

Dude in front of me was like a fucking rocking chair tho bro wouldn’t keep his neck straight the whole time. Looked like he was nodding off for an hour and a half but bro was wide awake. Had to keep adjusting my view every 15 seconds. Cool experience besides that mf.

Riding through the city, who is this in front of me? Two windows, one looking into the future, another onto everything you’re missing out on, but you keep going. This train doesn’t ever stop does it? One person gets off, and yet another takes his place. The camera sways with every turn the train takes and jumps with every bump. 

The banner of this review is one of my favorite shots of the film and it made me feel like a kid again. Sitting in the back seat, staring off onto mysterious yet intriguing buildings that you just want to explore every inch of, but I never stopped for them. I had places to go and things to do

It’s one of the only Benning shots (i’ve seen) that gives off this subjective sensation, which seems to be a massive rarity and probably was not intended for this shot, but it spoke to me and opened my eyes for the rest of film. Benning’s films are a perfect example of the things I would see if I got out of the car/train, and went through the areas I previously thought of as the ‘B-side’ of america
