Had so many mixed fillings on this.
For the first section I was really enjoying it. I felt watching the relationship was compelling, the build up and discussion of ghosts was cool, the possessed daughter etc.
But then the ghost stuff happens , and it goes on for quite a while longer than it needs to. Vijay is trapped in this house for what feels like eternity. Part of the reason it has so many details etc is probably because it’s set up for the reveal later, that it was all manufactured, but it still takes to long.
And on that note, the reveal was pretty great. I was like “wow so it’s shifting genres how cool.” But then, the ending is absolute dog shit. “Oh actually the lie you told about ghosts , it’s actually real and is happening like your story. Why? Idk just cause. Anyways, credits.”
The pieces were all here, and I’m still excited to watch double X, but this movie gets too much praise. I can’t recall the last time I saw such a horrible ending.
