Racing to Germany to sabotage the rockets of Nazi baddie "Red Skull", Captain America winds up frozen until the 1990s. Watching the Pyun cut. Yep, that's the good shit. A really wonderful version of Captain America's story, and one which is at least cursorily interested in confronting the abysmal growth of American imperialism in the second half of the 20th century, as well as the coming climate apocalypse.
He's more troubled by the passage of time than anyone ever got to see out of the MCU's Steve Rogers, more vulnerable by far. Even Red Skull has a tragic backstory, wherein he was kidnapped by the fascists for the super soldier experiment, and he continually reflects on his childhood and the circumstances of his life.
Phenomenal chase scene when they get to Europe. Phenomenal action all the way to the end from there. I mean, good god. The final third of this movie makes you believe in Captain America like the best old comics did, and like the MCU has never done. He's a man so monumental the president could save the fucking world, and still nothing more important could happen in his life than meeting Cap just once.
"Oh, yes...Captain America. Whatever happened to him?"

this was pretty bad. Maybe not as bad as I expected but still one of the worst marvel movies. Cap's suit was hella goofy and I just couldn't take that seriously at all, especially in the last scene where he looks at the camera, the eyes weren't even fuckin' placed correctly. Otherwise it was cool when it morphed into the comic drawn cap.
Red skull was also very bad and didn't even look like a skeleton, he looked like he had 30kg of play-doh smeared on his face. The story was very forgettable and kinda boring. Even tho this is bad, I liked the end fight, that was fun to watch with the action and final confrontation. another positive comment I have is about the casting of Steve, I think his actor did a great job and understood the character.
So if my point wasn't clear, the new movies are way better than this one and this is not a neccessary watch by any means. But I thought that this was a interesting watch for me.
