I know this film gets a lot of mixed reviews, but I didn't find it too bad. Dead Silence has a great premise, and though it's execution is more than a little shaky, it has enough good moments to carry the rest. I actually really liked Mary Shaw and her supernatural abilities; the control she has over her dolls is very creepy and disconcerting, and her backstory is told pretty well. I wasn't a big fan of Jamie, or any of the other characters apart from Henry and Marion Walker, so for me there wasn't much tension or suspense, and the ending kinda sucked, if I'm honest, as it felt a bit rushed and cheesy. The practical effects were great, though, and combined with CGI created a cool, Gothic horror atmosphere. Overall, I don't know if I'd come back to this film, but I can certainly see why it's developed a cult following, and the duo of James Wan and Leigh Whannell are awesome.
