Physically close to home, but not very close to any felt reality of it. Unfortunately I was going to either love this or be dissatisfied.

such a beautiful movie. was a big fan of the anthology style. i love that the lake meant something different to everyone else and carried a different story though not far from one another. big fan of the first two and the b&b sisters. b&b and learning to sail stories could be feature length or be drawn out if ever. the guy hunting the large fish story felt a bit lackluster.

Sunfish (& Other Stories on Green Lake)
At its best it’s a quiet mediation on nature and new experiences through children’s eyes. It perfectly captures that unique youthful feeling of being strung along on adult adventures one is too young to fully understand, being pulled between both of those worlds.

At its worst, it lacks the depth and character exploration to feel fresh. The four stories feel more or less disconnected despite their shared setting and the first and fourth are significantly better than the middle too.

I appreciate the setting though and the acting and dialogue is realistic to the most relaxing degree possible.
