raw as fuck. not only was the cinematography great (shoutout to the awesome color grading and camera angles!), but the performances were as well…like this is as new york city you could get. i always appreciate films that represent how the city really is, it makes me super proud to have been born here.
other than me geeking out about the city, this storyline was a basic one but super realistic. i cannot imagine how many have already been through this or something similar and i love how it’s been represented here. just young adults trying to navigate real adult responsibilities that have huge consequences in the long run but still making mistakes on the way. i loved seeing the dynamics in rico’s family as well. everyone would be at odds in one scene and then in the next, be just fine which is almost such a universal experience within a family. beautiful movie as a whole, i would definitely recommend watching.

Idk how else to put it but I feel like this film embodies the soul of Sundance.

This low-budget debut is full of passion and beautiful visuals. The acting performances feel so natural and genuine. The cinematography is also fantastic and the film's use of one-takes is incredible. Exciting debut!
