I really like Jacinda, just didn’t love the structure and flow of the doc.
The main thing I kept thinking about was how far right American politics are literally such a stain on the global political ecosystem as a whole. Her biggest issues and opps were literally waving Trump flags at the New Zealand Parliament Buildings. It’s depressing.

I started this movie while saying goodbye to my parents and finished it during a girls night with my girlfriend.
I feel like so much happened in such a short amount of time that I forget how much we went through as a country. I can’t even imagine what it would have been like to be leading the country during then.

Although not a wholly unbiased documentary, I think we all need to watch this. Prime Minister is at its heart centred on Jacinda Ardern. Arguably, Ardern has risen above her own name and come to encompass a type of politics that we all — regardless of our political compass — long for: a politics of empathy and logic. Such vulnerability is necessary to see in a world of strong man, macho politics. (Also, fuck vaccine deniers, fuck Trump supporters, fuck the cunts).
